Why would a lawyer reduce his attorney’s fee?: My lawyer came back with a settlement offer where he WON’T take any cut from property damage recovery and reduced the fee from 40% to 33.3% for bodily injury. Does this mean they don’t want to deal with this anymore and just want me to settle?

Joyce’s answer: Many attorneys will reduce their fee when the case reaches a point where the offer is all that it is going to be, but the risks of trial are such that the client could end up with less in the pocket. The attorney reduces the fee so the client can get more money and be happy to know that the attorney was willing to do this to make the case resolve. The attorney can then move on knowing they did the right thing by their client.

I live in Pa. Could you tell me if my Hipaa rights time out, what is the time limit ?: Because of my ex employer told a job I was going for and had a conditional job offer and passed what tests they wanted to pass, that I was hurt on the job and I’m recovering from the injury. I lost that job because of that. This happened 11/2 yrs. ago, but I just found out a week and half ago. ?

Joyce’s answer: To answer your question, if I understand it correctly, your HIPAA rights do not time out. I think you want to know if you have a case and when you must file or lose your right to sue. This is called a statute of limitations. There is not enough information in your post to respond to your question overall. I think it best for you to reach out and talk to an attorney near you to see if your situation warrants a claim. You can find attorneys right here on avvo.
